BLOG #10 DAVILANE Watch Bands

The concept

DAVILANE combines funky, tactical NATO straps with a modern fit for smartwatches and digital watches such as the legendary Casio models or modern Apple watches so you can have the best of two worlds: a play- & colorful watch strap and the everyday practicality of contemporary technology. The focus is on durability, comfort, and wearability, paired with creative color patterns and smart functionality. This makes DAVILANE an exciting alternative to the often plain rubber straps typically supplied with e.g. CASIO watches. A cool upgrade so to speak.

Most models are made from tightly woven nylon that is water-repellent and quick-drying. The material is soft enough for daily wear yet strong enough to maintain its shape even on larger watch cases. The straps are also very lightweight and equipped with a quick-release system, which can be slightly tricky to handle on narrower widths.

Additionally, you can choose the Italian leather version, especially designed for Garmin smartwatches, and equipped with a loop closure. In this design, the strap is pulled through a ring instead of using a hook and can be fixed with a Velcro fastener.

Compatibility and Dimensions

DAVILANE offers various widths tailored to common watch models.

• 16 or 18 mm for smaller smartwatches or vintage watches
• 20 mm fitting many Casio models (e.g. GA-2100 “CasiOak”)
• 22 mm standard for larger watches and many Garmin or Samsung models
• 24 or 26 mm for heavy chronographs or outdoor watches

Most NATO straps measure between 280 mm and 300 mm in length, providing enough adjustment for wrists from 15 cm to 22 cm in circumference.

Special Features

DAVILANE emphasizes clean edge sealing, precise hole punching, and durable spring bars. The buckles are screwed rather than riveted, giving the straps greater longevity and preventing rust. Some models also feature quick-release functionality—ideal for smartwatch users who like to change their bands frequently.

In addition, the straps can be customized with optional patches that attach via Velcro. A selection of colorful square designed DIY Patches are available in the DAVILANE online shop, allowing you to personalize your strap.
